The main streets of Weymouth are like any other town, full of stores with well know names.  Take time to find St Alban Street which runs south of St Mary's Street.  There you will find a world that in other towns has been lost forever, a world of small shops where customers matter.   Imagine Books lives up to its boast, it is 'far more than a book shop', allow yourself plenty of time to browse, it is paradise for a book lover. www.imaginebookshops.com  

When I am looking for a good meal in Weymouth my first choice is always Ta Dyo Adelphia, 60 St Thomas Street, D4 8EQ  Tel: 01305 773025.  The owner, George, will give you a warm welcome.  If the sun is out and I have plenty of time I will cross the Town Bridge and wander along the harbour side where there are a number of small restaurants and cafes with menus in their windows.
